Assistant Professor

I obtained my PhD in 2015 at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM). My dissertation in the Environmental Economics department at the IVM focused on the efficiency and effectiveness of policy instruments for the procurement of environmental services. Since 2014, I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (Fiscaal Economisch Instituut) and the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL), mainly working on the topic of environmental taxation. My current work includes running economic lab and field experiments on the allocation of subsidies in (agri-)environmental management schemes to groups of landowners, and ex-post evaluation studies on the effects of vehicle taxation on consumer behaviour in the Netherlands. I am a lecturer in ‘Governance of Ecosystem Services’ and ‘Environmental Economics (for ERM)’.

Mechanism design, procurement auctions, payments for ecosystem services, environmental taxation, behavioural economics, experimental economics.
