Jeroen has established an internationally recognized leading position in the field of water and climate risk management. He has developed and applied a wide range of assessment and modelling methods to analyse water risk and climate adaptation at local to global scales. Jeroen will be formally presented with the award during the AGU Fall Meeting, to be held on 9-13 December in San Francisco. He will present the Gilbert F. White Distinguished Lecture AGU Fall Meeting.

Sanne Muis is a recipient of the Natural Hazards Focus Group Award for Graduate Research. The award is granted to promising young scientists engaged in studies of natural hazards and risks in recognition of outstanding contributions achieved during their graduate research. Her PhD research, advised by Jeroen Aerts and Philip Ward, focused on the global modelling of coastal flood risk. Sanne will be formally presented with the award during the AGU Fall Meeting. She is scheduled to present an invited talk in the session Centennial Overview: Data science and the future of Natural Hazards Science.
