Integrating Programmes
Starting in 2010, IVM will integrate its research within four Integrating Programmes. Each of these represents a core strength of the institute’s research. They are designed to draw in and combine research from each of the four IVM departments.

The objective of the Integrating Programmes is to embed interdisciplinary research at IVM, to promote pioneering research through new combinations and thereby to foster the excellence of our science and our societal impact. It has also been designed for steering future research priorities and presenting a coherent profile of the institute’s work to our diverse audiences and partners.
The Programmes draw on existing research and operate across the IVM departments, which are organised according to academic discipline and represent the management line of the institute:
- Emerging Pollutants
- Ecosystem Services
- Earth System Governance
- Analysis of socio-ecological systems
