Summary
Ike van der Veen is junior scientist at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at the VU University in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Until May 2006 she was employed at the Environment and Food Safety Department of the Netherlands Institute for Fisheries Research (RIVO).
The main focus of her research is at the development of analytical methods for new contaminants like perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD), and tricresylphosphate (TCP) in various environmental matrices, with several techniques, including HPLC, GC-ECD, LC-MS/MS, GCxGC .
She is active in organizing workshops and interlaboratory studies for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in various environmental matrices, and she is involved in the preparation of test materials for QUASIMEME.
