Paola Movalli

Summary of experience

Dr Paola Movalli is a food and environmental toxicologist and pharmacist and currently Senior Researcher, Department of Chemistry and Biology.  She has worked principally on environmental toxicology, in particular contaminants in birds and fish and has over 20 years of teaching, research and examination experience.  She held consecutive positions as a European Commission Senior Marie Curie Fellow from 2004-10 and was featured in the EC’s publication on Marie Curie fellowships in 2010. Her work over the last 10 years has focused on contaminants in birds of prey. She was a co-founder of, and currently acts as Coordinator for, the European Science Foundation’s Research Networking Programme EURAPMON (www.eurapmon.net). EURAPMON aims to strengthen the contribution of research and monitoring for and with raptors in Europe to delivery of biodiversity, environmental and human health benefits, including maintenance and recovery of raptor populations and their habitats, and reduced chemicals threats to ecosystem and human health.
