PhD researcher


Adenew Ariti has joined the Environmental Geography Group since 1 June 2013 as a PhD researcher focusing on forestry decision support model development for the Central Rift Valley of Ethiopia. His research includes the perception of stakeholders about the land use dynamics of the study area as well as the role of land use planning in natural resource management in the study area. He is conducting his research under the supervision of Dr Jasper van Vliet and Prof. P.H. Verburg.

Prior to joining the Group, Adenew completed an MSc in Information Science and BA in Accounting and Finance at Addis Ababa University. 


Land use and land cover change analysis, remote sensing and image analysis, system analysis and design, administration, HR and financial analysis.
